Term And Conditions

Story Clinic— Submission Terms (Short Version)

1. Who may submit: All writers (professional or new). By submitting you confirm you are the author or have the right to submit the work.

2. Initial Screening: We perform a free initial screening to determine whether the submission qualifies for further paid review or representation. Screening takes up to 7 working days.

3. Submission Fee: We may require a non-refundable submission fee for your synopsis review and your full script review (amount and when charged will be shown on the form). If you decline the paid review after we request it, we may keep a record of submission but no detailed coverage will be provided.

4. Confidentiality & NDA: All accepted submissions are handled under our NDA. Writers must agree to our Submission NDA before the script is read by producers. Producers must sign a Producer Viewing Agreement before viewing scripts.

5. Copyright & Ownership: Writers retain full copyright to their manuscript. Story Clinic acts as an agent/representative and does not own the IP. Any deal will require a separate Representation Agreement clarifying commissions and rights.

6. Representation & Commission: If Story Clinic offers representation and a deal is completed, representation fees apply as per the Representation Agreement. Typical success commission range: 12%–15% of writer’s gross income from the deal (negotiable).

7. Producer Fees: Producers may be charged a curation/presentation fee per script or per pitch when requesting tailored pitch packages.

8. No Guarantee: Acceptance for review does not guarantee sale, production, or compensation. Story Clinic will, however, use reasonable efforts to present and market scripts to relevant producers.

9. Refunds & Disputes: Submission fees for review and screening are non-refundable. Refund policies for paid services (coverage, doctoring) will be provided with each service order. Disputes shall follow the dispute resolution clause in the Representation Agreement.

10. Legal Advice: These terms are informational. Writers and producers are advised to obtain independent legal advice for contract signing.
